It will be interesting to see what people at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, reminiscent of the Audi Urban Concept. Car manufacturers, and Audi is no exception, seem to think, to drum up excitement for these shows, they come up with designs that would never sell in the real world. There are some good ideas at work here though, and even some design philosophies in the sketches that could iron out a few things if you changed. Of course, the 21-inch wheels with no apparent ties, the sliding cockpit canopy, and other such real-world impossibilities have to bear.

What is good, however, is the cycle fender wheel covers, and the slate clean, lightweight design. I love the ribbon on the car that is a clear nod to the R8. Other things, like the seats are a bit contrived. The passenger seat is a few inches back of the drivers, á la the VW XL1 concept, presumably to accommodate the shoulder in an otherwise tight quarters, but like other manufacturers, who do similar things, including tandem seating, eg Renault Twizzy, they seem to forget that humans are social beings, we like to talk, or at least see each other. On the other hand, being urban roundabouts perhaps the drive was just short enough that we do without each other for the moment.

The Urban Concept uses of carbon fiber reinforced plastic for the chassis, and poured into the bucket seats, further evidence that the carbon is not just for looks and more supercars. The drivetrain is all electric, as you probably guessed, and has two "e-tron" engines, or engines are the same as that of the powerful e-tron concept is unknown. In fact, all information regarding the performance is still under wraps for now.

Audi is on a roll lately, releasing car after car, a small town around the electric sense and a great addition to the stable. The Urban Concept in particular, could fill that niche, and quite nicely. There is a masculinity and quality of this car that many others seem to miss.

I for one am looking forward to the 2011 Frankfurt show in September. I will focus on Audi pulls the sheet off of this one, because there are many questions surrounding the car. It will be interesting to see Audi Enter.

The 2012 Audi R8 is Audi's halo car: A low-slung, two-seat supercar, partly derived from the Lamborghini Gallardo (Lamborghini is owned by parent company Audi's company). Big V-8 of the R8 and the V-10 engine and quattro all-wheel drive to offer blistering performance on the job, but still pliable enough to cruise Rodeo Drive in style, all at a price more accessible than the average supercar.

Keep fresh the R8, Audi V-10 engine added in the second model year of the car, in his third year the convertible Spyder model was added, and new for the 2012 model year, Audi R8 takes its powerful engine and, well, makes the even more powerful. The 5.2-liter V-10 adds 35 horsepower, and now totals a mighty 560 horsepower. Slim exotic styling, an ultra-premium interior, the performance at the ready, the R8 is a must for anyone considering looking at this top-tier segment.

The 2012 Audi R8 is a driver's car through and through. Luggage space is minimal, but a storage package adds nets behind the seats for luggage shelf unusable. Though capable, the R8 is tuned more like a Grand Tourer than a street-legal race car. Fuel consumption remains on par with its racier brethren, but that's not really the point, right?

Among the many changes in the 2012 Audi R8 GT is more power to the already beastly 5.2-liter V-10 engine. It now produces 560 horsepower, compared to the previous 525 hp. The GT will have a limited colors available for this model year. Also, this supercar features a carbon fiber stationary rear spoiler, bumpers and mirrors.

The 2012 Audi R8 is an exotic and eminently styled coupe with strong coke bottle curves and near perfect proportions. An optional convenience package adds a rearview camera, hill-hold and heated auto-dimming and power folding side mirrors.

The 2012 Audi R8 is already a potent road and track machine with its 4.2-liter V-8 developing 420 hp, but the real power-mad will choose the new 560 hp 5.2-liter V-10. Both engines are coupled to either a six-speed single-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual and Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, making handling and excellent cornering. Despite its impressive performance, the R8 supercar is a relatively practical and has a comfortable ultra-premium interior, good visibility, and relative comfort.

The 2012 Audi A4 is Audi's best selling model, and for good reason. If it seems small and muscular on the outside, the A4 offers ample interior space and good fuel economy to boot. And of course you get Audi's top-notch interiors of Audi design language, with sensual curves and delicate stylized body fit. The 2012 Audi A4 is a serious issue for consideration in the highly competitive segment.

Coming from a redesign in the 2009 model year, the 2012 A4 comes with only minor modifications. The previous model year saw the introduction of the new eight-speed automatic transmission. Only available with four-cylinder engine, the first motor and the transmission link, and helps increase fuel economy and driving comfort.

Although there is plenty to keep on the 2012 Audi A4, it is not without flaws. Options add very fast and can easily push the car of A6 territory. Attractive, sensuous styling is immediately apparent and is the latest in the design of the premium German automaker's aesthetic. Powered by two turbo engines available, the A5 offers an attractive package.


The 2012 model year saw no major changes, but last year's refinements include a new eight-speed automatic transmission designed to be smoother and more efficient than the six-speed replacement. The 2012 Audi A5 also received new wheels on more expensive models and a new type of optional wood trim.

While it may seem old-fashioned in a world of fancy folding metal convertible roof, gently fold the top matches easily match the A5 in sound and is faster to fold / unfold the rest. Although the new gearbox will probably help fuel the A5 falls rapidly as engine size increases. Like most convertibles, the trunk is a bit small, but is on par for the class.

2012 Audi A5 What's new
The 2012 Audi A5 was essentially unchanged from the previous model year. In the 2011 model year, the A5 has been updated with a new eight-speed automatic transmission that replaces last six-speed automatic. Premium Plus and Prestige models had two wheels and a new Titanium Sport Package. Birch wood trim was replaced by Nutmeg Laurel timber added navigation and HD radio. Luxury models receive an optional power rear window shade, standard backup camera and rear parking sensors.

2012 Audi A5 Outside
The 2012 Audi A5 is a bold, sweeping both coupe hardtop and convertible styles, shapes out of the competition. Unlike the competition, though, the convertible model uses a traditional fabric roof that raises and lowers-fold faster than today's metal roofs. A wide-mouth grille and lower air intakes, a Cue Audi design language, and 18-inch wheels are standard with 19-inch wheels are optional. Next year, the Audi A5 styling refresh.

The German automaker has built a reputation for producing top-notch interior, and the A5 is certainly a good example. Audi's Multi Media Interface (MMI) uses a knob instead of a touch screen, and shares some similarities with the BMW and Mercedes-Benz infotainment systems. An optional MMI is available, with easier operation. Leather, power seats and dual-zone automatic climate control are standard in the range, along with a multi-function steering wheel. Performance & Handling
Thanks to the turbocharger, based on 2012 Audi A5 four-cylinder engine and 211 hp provide a willing and capable powertrain, and the most efficient of the two available. An optional 3.2-liter V-6 offers 265 hp for the more sporty. Audi's quattro all-wheel drive is optional, and helps propel the A5 with impressive grip.
