2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMGMercedes-Benz is wasting no time showing off the full range of its all-new SL-Class. On the heels of the SL550 and SL 63 AMG is the mighty 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, set to debut in 2012 next month in New York International Auto Show. Benz flagship V-12-powered SL threat will be the fastest on the market when it comes once in showrooms later this year.

The SL65's secret weapon is the 6.0-liter direct-injection, twin-turbo V-12, that 621 hp and a stump-pulling 738 lbs-ft of torque, an evolution of the last-gen V-12 SL65's M275 mill produces an output of 604 hp and 738 lb-ft. AMG engineers bolted to the new turbos that provide up to 22 psi boost, new varieties and wastegate ducts, and revised cylinder heads - deemed significant enough to change the engine of the new M279 justify designation. As with most new models in the AMG lineup, the SL65 also get an ECO start / stop system.

Another important update is the 2013 SL65 the new seven-speed automatic, which has two more teeth than the gear in the previous model. Directors will have their choice of four transmission modes: Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S), Sport plus (S +) and Manual (M). With the boost in horsepower and a new transmission, there is a good chance that the SL65 know 60 mph faster than the claimed time of 3.9 seconds, as long as the tires grip. Like the SL63, the SL65 is limited to 186 mph top speed. Standard brakes are 15.4-inch discs with six-piston calipers in front and 14.2-inch discs with single piston rear calipers. AMG Carbon Ceramic Brake System is a method update if you plan to take your SL65 to attack a track or two.

To complement a straight line from the SL65 AMG is the performance of the speed-sensitive electromechanical power steering and an AMG-update Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. Turn to ABC Comfort posing for Sunset Boulevard, but in the canyons, you want to call on the Sports program, which spans body damping. The electronic stability control has three modes including Sport Handling, which must ensure that the driver of the car to explore extreme handling limits before it intervenes. Finally, the SL65 all-aluminum body construction contributes to the curb weight 4299 kg - 254 kg lighter than the previous model.

Pricing has not been released for the SL65 as of yet, but expect a significant jump from the SL 63 AMG. The outgoing SL65 stickered for $ 199,000, while the SL 63 is coupled with a retail price of $ 139,000 - a difference of a C63 AMG sedan, or give a few large ones. After his debut on the New York show, the SL65 will arrive in showrooms in November 2012.
