Citroën’s DS Concept
Far the past few weeks, we succeeded bits and pieces about the latest Citroën DS concept research to collect and now we have not only more than 120 high resolution photos to share with you, but we also have all the details of its world premiere at the Beijing Motor Show on 24 April.
Previously believed to be the name of the DS9, the French study called the Numero 9 concept, but Citroën makes clear that it belongs to the DS lineup.

Citroen says the Numero 9 the more chic and premium DS lineup introduce to Chinese consumers for the company launches its first DS products on the market later this year.
More importantly, Citroën claims that the Numero 9 of the brand design language refines and indicates the styling of the three DS line models, including a C-segment premium sedan (think Audi A3 sedan), an SUV and a D-segment ( mid format) executive sedan.
As you can see, Citroën is all about the DS line, which currently includes the DS3 supermini, DS4 compact hatch and the larger DS5 on hyped, and all for a good reason because the tooth has up over 200,000 sales worldwide only two years after starting.
Citroen does not say when the Numero 9 will result in a production model, but the French automaker executives have already confirmed the brand plans to build a top model.
The Numero 9 is a continuation of the impressive 2010 Metropolis concept that was shown in China. However, the new DS study sport shooting brake body, while 4.93m (194.1-inch) long and 1.94m (76.4 inch) wide, with a 3m (118.1-inch) wheelbase, it is also compact in size than the 5.3 m long (208.7-inch) Metropolis. However, it is still longer and wider than a Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
The French brand claims that it offers plenty of space for rear passengers, adding that the three areas in the glass roof creates "a welcoming, friendly cabin atmosphere."
Citroen tells us special note of certain design elements, such as the new front-end to take the sculpted, 3-dimensional grille that flows into the full-LED headlights, and the floating roof underlined by chrome and glazed sides flows into the rear window, because this style elements will appear on the next DS models.
Under the bonnet, Citroen says that hybrid drivetrain of the Numero 9's can be a conventional gasoline or diesel engine (depending on market) combined with an electric motor on the rear that develops 70 hp and a torque of 200 Nm, which is additional advantage of offering four-wheel drive.
The electric motor is powered by lithium-ion batteries that can in three and a half hours to charge from a normal household outlet providing a range of 50 km (31 miles) in all-electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode .
The model will look at the Beijing Motor Show features a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine (shared with the Mini brand of BMW Group) developing 225 hp (165kW) and 275Nm of torque.
Together, the combustion engine and electric motor to produce up to 295hp so a 0 to 100 km / h (62 mph) sprint in just 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 244 kmh (152 mph).
According to Citroen, the driver uses the vehicle of pure electric mode, the Numero 9 goes back to 166mpg UK (1.7lt/100km or 138mpg U.S.) over the combined cycle.
Needless to say, the Numero 9 is equipped with a traditional hydraulic active suspension.
